The Society for Teachers of the Alexander Technique

The Society for Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT) is the oldest and largest such society in the world. It was founded in 1958 by teachers trained by FM Alexander. It holds the principal register of people qualified to teach the Alexander Technique. You can see the register online at http://www.stat.org.uk.

The STAT training is the most rigorous. A student attends an approved school every morning during term times for three years. They are assessed by the school director, their assistant and a visiting moderator from STAT. Qualification entitles the practioner to put MSTAT after their name.
