Group lessons in the Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is fundamentally a process of learning how you use your self -
and this in part means gaining experiences and understanding of how you do what you do. So, at some
point, you will need one-to-one attention.
That said, a small group isn't a bad place to start. Although it won't be customised to you in
the way a single
lesson can be, it will be cheaper and you'll be able to watch
what other people do. This can help develop an understanding of what to look for.
One thing to consider is that you will have to be involved - it won't be like a classroom with
you sitting and listening all the time. Are you comfortable enough for
other people to watch you and can you be fair minded when you're in the audience?
If so, give it a go.
I regularly teach small classes, so get in touch if you're interested. If you are caring for someone
with long term illness and live in Oxford get in touch with the Carers Centre where I take
evening groups
for free.
