Alexander Technique at Eau de Vie, Oxford
Reynold is a qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique.
His interest in the technique started 15 years ago when it initially helped him
overcome recurrent tension headaches.
The Alexander Technique is a gentle process of re-education; you learn how you
perform the simplest of acts (such as standing, sitting and walking) and
uncover ways to move more freely. We all live most of our lives semi-consciously
relying on our habits to guide us, mind and body, through the day, but who does not
delight in ordinary things done extraordinarily, in a little more freedom, a little
more grace, a heightened awareness of one's self?
The Alexander Technique sits well with other complementary therapies. It does not
try to directly cure backache, headache, stiffness and pain; Eau de Vie
has excellent therapists for that. Try the Alexander Technique if you believe
that the thing you want to change has its roots in your everyday acts,
somewhere frustratingly difficult to see, let alone change.
Reynold is a registered teacher with the Society
for Teachers of the Alexander Technique, the largest professional body in this discipline.
